
What do we offer at Stage 4?
Engineering Employability Essentials
The programme will allow you to progress into employment by providing essential training that will give you the knowledge, skills and certification to progress into sustained employment within the engineering sector. You will complete a suite of training courses that will lead to statutory certification, such as Health and Safety Awareness, Fire Safety Awareness, Abrasive Wheels, Hand and Power Tools, First Aid, Manual handling, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment/Permit to work, Understanding COSHH and Safety Passport. This will be accompanied with practical skills including Fundamental Engineering Hand Skills, Basic Engineering Maintenance activity, fundamental Material cutting, forming and joining skills.
Who can apply?
If you are aged 16 or 17 and not in education, training or employment you may be eligible to apply.
What can you achieve?
Qualifications can include:
- EAL L1 Working Safely in an Engineering Environment at SCQF Level 4
- EAL L1 Using Manual MIG or MAG welding techniques at SCQF Level 4
Can I get a training allowance?
You may be eligible to receive a weekly training allowance of £55 - speak to the College for further information.
