<h1>Post-school Learning Choices for disabled learners and carers</h1>

<p><p>LEAD Scotland have updated and refreshed their guide, &#39;Post School Learning Choices in Scotland&#39;, for disabled learners and carers.</p>

<p>The new publication&nbsp;is a very comprehensive guide to the full range of learning options for people after school, up to further education level at college, including community learning, distance learning, vocational training, ESOL,&nbsp;employability programmes and further education at college. The guide provides information on:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Student/learner funding including course&nbsp;fee and living cost&nbsp;awards/bursaries/allowances</li>
	<li>Welfare benefits for disabled people and carers&nbsp;and how learning impacts on benefits</li>
	<li>Educational support for disabled learners</li>
	<li>Qualification levels, the Scottish Credit &amp; Qualifications Framework table and progressing through learning levels</li>
	<li>Useful contacts/further information and signposting</li>
</ul>

<p>It is available to download <a href="http://www.lead.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Post-School-Learning-Choices-in-Scotland-2017-2.pdf" target="_blank">HERE</a>. The guide is in electronic accessible PDF format and can be made available in other formats on request from LEAD Scotland.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the future LEAD Scotland plan to create new shorter and more easily understood fact sheets for people on various topics, next up will be a fact sheet on the Disabled Student&#39;s Allowance.&nbsp;&nbsp; The organisation would welcome suggestions for fact sheets dealing with common queries on learning related topics.&nbsp; They will also be updating a separate guide on Higher Education in Scotland in the near future.&nbsp; A full range of free booklets providing information for disabled people and their families/carers as well as for&nbsp;professionals, related to post-school learning can be found at <a href="http://www.lead.org.uk/support-for-disabled-people-to-learn/how-we-support-your-learning/downloadable-guides/" target="_blank">http://www.lead.org.uk/support-for-disabled-people-to-learn/how-we-support-your-learning/downloadable-guides/</a></p>
