We currently offer opportunities for all stages of the employability pipeline. We offer a range of activities to help you if you're looking for work or hoping to develop some skills and increase your confidence. We hold a Work Club each Friday run from the Ormlie Centre, Henderson Street, Thurso 10.00am – 1.00pm. We can help you make initial Universal Credit applications, create CVs, help with job applications, interview skills, IT skills, confidence building etc.
For individuals who do not have access to IT or who are not confident using computers we have projects that run from the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Wick and Thurso.
In partnership with Highlife Highland we also offer Literacy and Numeracy Skills every Friday from the Ormlie Centre Thurso – please contact us to check availability - details below.
Our opportunities are open to all age groups from 16+, whether you're looking for work, hoping to develop some skills and increase your confidence, need some help with reading, writing, numbers and spelling or want to improve or develop your computer skills.
Our activities will increase your confidence and will support you into employment. You'll also build up some key skills that will help you in the workplace.
There is no formal training allowance, however if you are registered with the Job Centre this provision will not affect your benefits and will support your work commitment.
