<p><p>Hearing and Sight Care, Caithness and North Sutherland has 2 drop&ndash;in centres:</p>

<p>&nbsp;<strong>The Sensory Centre&nbsp;Thurso&nbsp;</strong>is open Tuesday ,Wednesday and Friday 10am-2pm</p>

<p>Some of the many&nbsp;services provided are:</p>

<ul>
	<li>The provision of hearing aid upkeep, issue of NHS batteries and tubing</li>
	<li>Referral to statutory services</li>
	<li>Help, advice and information on hearing loss and associated issues</li>
	<li>Demonstration, loan and procurement of specialist equipment for the home&nbsp;&nbsp;e.g.&nbsp;flashing doorbells, pager systems, amplified telephones</li>
	<li>Training in deaf awareness and communication tactics</li>
	<li>Basic introduction to British Sign Language (BSL)</li>
	<li>Advocacy for profoundly deaf sign language users and hard&ndash;of&ndash;hearing clients</li>
</ul>

<p>Home visits to your own home, nursing and residential homes, hospitals, sheltered housing and day care centres for those&nbsp;who cannot access services withing the centres because of&nbsp;limited mobility, health or transport issues.</p></p>
