Scotland's Best provides young people aged 16-24 with the opportunities to develop in the world of work. The team runs a variety of programmes which ensure you are given the required support to succeed in the workplace.
Scotland’s Best is an employability programme with a difference. The aim is to enhance your workplace skills and experience whilst gaining employment. You will spend 4 weeks training with Barnardo’s Works. This training will be dedicated to volunteering in the community. Past groups have put on fundraising events such as, a pop-up cinema and quiz night. After this you will complete a 6 week work experience placement.
Scotland’s Best is funded through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund.
If you are aged 16-24 and interested in increasing your employability skills by volunteering and undertaking a placement then this programme could be for you. Barnardos Works offers this programme in Caithness and Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty, Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey.
Barnardo’s Works deliver SQA accredited folios as part of their training programmes. On Scotland’s Best you work towards an Employability Award folio at SCQF Level 4.
In the first instance you could discuss this opportunity with your Job Centre Advisor or other Advisor.
